FLASHport® Aftermarket Software is used to upgrade to the latest version of your System Enhancement Software Package to upgrade to a different System Enhancement Software Package or to order enhancements for existing for existing ASTRO® Digital APX 6000 radios in the field.   FLASHport® upgrade kits contain upgrade software, FLASHkey, and upgrade documentation. 

There is a new way to upgrade radios in the field. The current method, which makes use of the FLASHport USB dongle, will be supported, but for those looking for a more convenient way, the new online method supported in Radio Management (RM) offers the following advantages:

• Reduce wait time by retrieving the order electronically, rather than via the FLASHport USB dongle
• Work more efficiently by using RM to automatically filter for those radios to which the upgrade order can be applied
  
• Work in parallel because you are no longer limited by the number of physical FLASHort USB dongles you have                

NOTE: Radio Management must be deployed to manage your fleet of APX radios before you can use the online FLASHport method in Radio Management to upgrade radios.  For more information on Radio Management please refer to the ASTRO Radio Management ECAT page.

1. Specify the current System Enhancement Software Package that represents the software in the radio as the main line item ( T7659, T7660, T7663, T7664, T7665)
2. If you choose to use Radio Management to perform the upgrade, enter the online delivery method (UA00083AA) as a sub-item, quanitity of 1 only. No selection is needed if using the traditional USB dongle.
3. Select the desired Operational Mode, System Enhancement Software Package, and/or System Enhancement Options and enter as sub-items.
4. IMPORTANT:  If you are remaining at the same System Enhancement Software Package, use the column of the current System Enhancement Software Package to determine price and availability of System Enhancement Options.
5. ALL sub-items must have the same quantity listed (which equals the number of radios being upgraded) even though the main line is ALWAYS 1.  Maximum qty of software upgrades is 500 per line item.
6. Radio Model number and EXISTING FLASHcode must be entered into designated COF fields. A separate line item must be entered for each different combination of Radio model and EXISTING FLASHcode.
7. FLASH upgrades are not discountable"

NOTE: The FLASHcode can be read by using a USB cable.

A Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable is required to "FLASH" FLASHport® software into the ASTRO®: Digital APX 6000 radios.
